  I would generally assume that 1-star reviews are irrational and upset people venting, but I would be wrong in regards to Maple Ridge.
  
  I moved to Richland for work and needed a place to live while I was house-hunting. This place allowed pets, so it was my first choice.
  
  At my initial walkthrough, numerous items of concern (broken screens, trim, leaking faucets) were noted and I was informed they would be fixed prior to us moving in. We were moving about a month later, so I paid an extra month's rent to reserve the apartment. None of the items on my initial inspection were repaired prior to move-in.
  
  I submitted numerous maintenance requests upon arrival and throughout my time living at Maple Ridge. Two were fixed (a broken door handle and a mold issue), while the remainder (a dozen or so) were marked as fixed in the electronic submission system. I re-submitted requests that were left unfilled, and they were again marked as fixed without anyone having looked at the issue.
  
  These were mostly minor things (broken appliances) that I would give up on having the owners fix and purchase whatever $5.00 clip needed to be replaced. Some were major, such as the heaters not working in November.
  
  I found a house, bought it, moved, and to my knowledge the heat in my old bedroom still does not work.
  
  Crime is also a bit of an issue here. Several residents' children enjoyed throwing rocks through cars or underage joyriding in the parking lot. This was reported to management, but apparently was not a concern of theirs enough to deal with the residents.
  
  Parking is terrible and enforcement is inconsistent at best. I received a tow notice for expired tabs while waiting for my new plates (on a new vehicle) in the mail, but a vehicle with a flat tire using a cinderblock for a parking brake was left in the same spot for almost two months. When informing management of the issue with my plates being on their way to the credit union where my auto loan was held, I was spoken down to and told I needed to move my car and park it on the street, which is beyond unacceptable and was entirely incorrect.
  
  There is more to say, but I feel as though I've said enough to paint a realistic picture of what potential residents should expect from this establishment. I will summarise my thoughts as follows:
  
  Maple Ridge management falls somewhere between indifferent and incompetent. It is an adequate place to live temporarily, but little else beyond that. I would not suggest moving here unless you were having difficulty finding a vacancy elsewhere, and I certainly would not suggest living here for any extended duration of time.
